Health & Safety Week at KL Industri – Focusing on Health and Energy

Lecture about mindset at KL

Recently, we at KL Industri took a meaningful first step into our anniversary year by gathering around something that affects us all: how we feel, how we take care of ourselves, and how we create the right conditions to maintain energy and balance both at work and in our personal lives.

This year’s Health & Safety Week became a highly appreciated initiative, giving employees from across the organization the opportunity to take part in inspiration, knowledge and practical tools related to health, wellbeing and safety.

At the same time, the week also marked the natural starting point for something larger. In 2026, KL Industri celebrates its 80th anniversary, and the anniversary year will focus on both our history and our future. Beginning the year with a focus on the people behind the company therefore felt particularly meaningful.

The activities were spread across several days to ensure that everyone – regardless of working hours or shift schedules – had the opportunity to participate. The week was filled with lectures, training sessions and smaller initiatives that served as reminders that sustainable wellbeing is often built on simple everyday habits.

Sustainable wellbeing in practice

One of the main highlights of the week was a series of lectures by Oya Hanzén, holistic health coach and speaker from Runzpire AB. She met employees under the theme “The Sustainable Employee (and Human Being)”.

By combining personal experiences, research and practical tools, she shared insights on recovery, motivation, mindset and how to create long-term balance in everyday life.

Oya also introduced her work with the “Energy Wheel”, which highlights different health-promoting factors that help us build energy balance in daily life – without preaching, but with a clear focus on sustainability.

Following the lectures, employees were invited to enjoy a nutritious lunch, an appreciated element that reinforced the message of health through conscious and balanced food choices.

Health is an investment in people and everyday life

For KL Industri, initiatives such as Health & Safety Week are about creating the right conditions for a working life where people can feel well – both at work and in their personal lives.

Peter Andersson, Production Manager, sees clear value in highlighting health issues even in a production-intensive environment:

“We operate in an environment where it is important that our employees are alert, healthy and feel well. It is not only about work performance, but about ensuring that our people have the energy and strength for life as a whole – both here at work and at home.”

He also emphasizes that health and safety are a natural part of the company’s long-term responsibility:

“For us, this is part of building a sustainable KL Industri. We want to be a reliable employer and a stable partner in the energy transition – and that starts with our people.”

Wellbeing employees build the future

Health & Safety Week is an initiative led by the HR function at KL Industri, with a clear strategic purpose: to promote a sustainable working life and create the conditions for employee wellbeing through a company culture strongly rooted in health and safety.

Denise Johnsson, HR Manager, describes the week as an important part of a broader and long-term effort:

“Health & Safety is part of the ongoing development of our HR work, where preventive efforts related to health and the work environment are a natural component. We want to create a workplace where people thrive, feel well and stay motivated – not only today, but over time.”

In parallel with Health & Safety Week, KL Industri has also updated its wellness policy and increased the wellness allowance, providing further concrete examples of how the company turns ambition into real actions that promote employee health.

“It is important that we do not only talk about wellbeing, but also create structures and conditions that make it possible in practice. The updated wellness policy and increased allowance are part of that effort.”

She also connects the initiative to the company’s broader direction:

“Energy for the future is not only about our products and solutions. It is also about ensuring that we as an organization have employees who have the energy to move forward, feel engaged and are given the right conditions to feel well – both at work and in their personal lives.”

Safety as a natural part of everyday work

In addition to the focus on health, the week also included important elements related to safety. The local rescue services conducted CPR training, giving employees the opportunity to practice life-saving actions and strengthen everyday preparedness.

As an additional encouragement, all employees received a goodie bag containing small tools that promote movement and wellbeing outside of work, as well as an invitation to an open house at Aktiv Hälsocenter, a gym located near KL Industri.

Employees had the opportunity to try the facilities and take advantage of special offers for those interested in investing further in their health and training.

Local collaboration as a conscious choice

Another clear intention behind the week was to strengthen local collaboration. All participants involved – from lecturers and CPR trainers to food suppliers and the partnership with Aktiv Hälsocenter are locally or regionally connected.

By choosing local partners, KL Industri aims to contribute to the network of companies and organizations that together strengthen the business community and society in Finspång. It is a way of taking responsibility – not only internally, but also within the community where the company operates.

Building sustainable energy – also in people

Health & Safety Week served as a reminder that long-term development involves more than technology and production. It is about creating a culture where people can grow, feel well and maintain their energy – today and in the future.

As KL Industri now enters its anniversary year, it is clear that the future is built on the same foundation as always: experience, responsibility and the people who make the work possible every day.
