KL Industri's history
The story of KL Industri began in 1946 in Finspång when entrepreneurs Knut Kronqvist and Åke Larsson started their business. Just a year later, they introduced their first meter cabinets, laying the foundation for a culture of innovation and fresh thinking. The first transformer kiosk was launched in 1960, and since then, KL Industri has continued to set new standards in the industry.
Through several strategic ownership changes, including acquisitions of Eldon, Schneider Electric, and the Norwegian Møre Electric Group A/S, we have continued to grow and expand. Although we are now part of an international group, our heart and production remain in Finspång – an essential part of our identity.
Our production
In our modern factory in Finspång, we work with a LEAN-based production model that combines efficiency with customization. This approach allows us to meet our customers’ specific needs while maintaining the highest possible quality.
One of our strengths is our self-sufficient production process – from raw material to finished product. This holistic approach not only ensures quality and flexibility but also supports our efforts to create sustainable and resource-efficient solutions.
Production departments
Standard power grid substations: Production of ELIT substations as well as satellite and series satellite substations in steel. These stations are designed to meet high standards of quality and functionality.
Low-volume and custom substations: A department dedicated to developing customized concrete stations and products based on unique customer requirements.
In-house concrete production: We manufacture concrete foundations and concrete buildings from scratch and perform final assembly of substations, giving us full control over the end result.
Through this production structure, we not only deliver high-quality products but also contribute to a more sustainable future by minimizing resource waste and optimizing our processes.
