As we at KL Industri look back on the year, we do so with a clear sense of forward momentum, despite the market challenges that have affected us throughout the year. 2025 has been a year marked by continued change and a degree of uncertainty in the world around us, while KL Industri has remained focused on delivering, developing, and staying true to its direction. With professionalism, quality, and strong engagement across the organisation, we now move forward – with our sights set on both the future and our upcoming 80th anniversary.
Together with our CEO, Tino Gournambassis, we share a few reflections on the past year, the market situation, and what we are bringing with us into the anniversary year of 2026.
A changing market environment – and a stable KL Industri
The year has been characterised by a more cautious market environment than many initial forecasts suggested. Within the energy transition, several stakeholders are currently in a phase of evaluating, analysing, and adjusting projects in relation to long-term objectives, often linked to targets for 2030 and 2040. At the same time, political processes, economic conditions, and other external factors have influenced expectations and timelines. Taken together, this explains why order intake for the year has not fully met original estimates.
“This is a natural part of major societal transitions,” says CEO Tino Gournambassis. “Many projects require thorough analysis before decisions are made, and some decisions are reassessed along the way. In that situation, our role as a stable and knowledgeable partner becomes even more important.”
Despite this, KL Industri has remained solid. Our business has not lost direction, and we have handled the situation in a structured and responsible manner – maintaining high quality in both delivery and dialogue.
An offering aligned with the times
One of our key strengths during the year has been that our product offering has been well aligned with the development currently taking place in the industry. For a long time, we have focused on environmentally adapted and SF₆-free solutions – an area that has been high on the market agenda throughout the year. As a result, market changes have not come as a surprise to us.
“This has allowed us to stay focused on delivery and development, rather than making rapid adjustments. That has created a sense of confidence, both internally and for our customers,” says Tino.
A strategically important part of the year has also been to broaden our customer base by reaching new industries and segments. Our proven products can be modularly adapted to meet different needs within industry, infrastructure, and green energy initiatives. During the year, we have grown within these areas, which has been an important factor in maintaining forward momentum.
Building blocks for continued development
In parallel with market developments, and despite the challenges, we have carried out several strategically important initiatives to strengthen our position for the future. Among other things, we have:
- implemented an upgraded business system, Infor CloudSuite, strengthening our processes and providing a stable, modern platform for continued business development
- continued the development of our test lab, in line with our long-term product development strategy
- invested in new punching machines, improving both quality and production capacity
- launched further developed EPDs, clarifying our sustainability efforts and simplifying our customers’ procurement processes
The people behind the progress
Perhaps the most important success factor of the year has been our employees. The level of engagement, responsibility, and willingness to contribute has been evident throughout the organisation – regardless of role or function.
“Everyone at KL Industri can take a moment to feel proud of what we have achieved together this year. We have continued to develop in the right direction, even as conditions have changed and times have at times been challenging,” says Tino.
Being nominated for Collaboration of the Year in Finspång is something we see as a strong acknowledgement of the way we work – in close cooperation with customers, partners, and the local community.
Ready for the next step – and an anniversary year
As we now look ahead to 2026, we do so with both preparation and confidence. The need for reliable, safe, and sustainable energy infrastructure will continue to grow, and we are well positioned to meet upcoming projects.
2026 will also be a special year for KL Industri. We celebrate 80 years – a journey defined by development, quality, and long-term commitment. Our modern history, with many of our current employees having been part of the journey, marks an important milestone. Over the past decade, we have built a more structured and clearly defined company, with a clear direction that has delivered results – while keeping people and values at the heart of everything we do.
“The anniversary year will be an opportunity both to reflect on the journey we have made and to show where we are heading. The strong growth of the past ten years has shaped our current market position. The anniversary will be about pride in what we have created together – and about the secure, long-term development we want to continue driving forward,” concludes Tino.
