For an SF6-free future
The electrical industry is facing a significant shift. SF6 gas (sulfur hexafluoride) has long been a common insulation medium in high-voltage equipment due to its excellent insulating properties. However, SF6 is also one of the most potent greenhouse gases, with a global warming potential thousands of times greater than carbon dioxide.
With a focus on sustainability and climate impact, the EU has decided to phase out the use of SF6. From January 1, 2026, it will be prohibited to install products using this gas as an insulation medium.
unerRING – the flexible and safe SF6-free RMU switchgear for the future
As part of our sustainability efforts, we have developed unerRING – a new generation of SF6-free RMU switchgear (12 & 24 kV) that combines high performance with safety and flexibility. unerRING is modular and can be tailored to specific needs through a compartment-by-compartment configuration, allowing for both expansion and customization in the field.

AirPacT – sustainable and future-proof
In addition to unerRING, we offer AirPacT – an SF6-free load switch disconnector that serves as the perfect complement for replacement and retrofit in existing ELIT substations. AirPacT uses pressurized, dry, and clean air as the insulation medium and is a future-proof, digital solution with high operational reliability and a robust design.
Thanks to its Plug and Play design, AirPacT is easy to install and seamlessly integrates into our ELIT power grid substation series, which currently features SM6 compartments. Its innovative design ensures a lifespan of at least 40 years with minimal maintenance. The product meets all IEC requirements.
