We are proud to have been part of HSB Södermanland’s ambitious project to establish a solar park in Strängnäs. Completed in September 2020, the park is expected to generate 13,000 MWh annually, supplying renewable energy to 4,700 member-owned apartments. Plans are already in place to expand capacity to 19,000 MWh per year, potentially including more HSB associations across Sweden.
“This investment sends a strong signal to our members that we are committed to sustainable energy. Solar power is the cleanest form of electricity production imaginable, and it also provides long-term, stable, and low electricity costs in a collectively owned, non-profit energy system,” says Jon Leo Rikhardsson, CEO of HSB Södermanland.
“It’s incredibly exciting for us to be involved in a solar project of this scale. We have supplied insulated sheet metal stations equipped with battery storage for high-voltage applications. The client is very satisfied with our contribution, and we hope to be involved in the future expansion of the park. The demand for solar energy is growing rapidly, and more of our customers are embracing solar solutions where they fit their projects,” says Joakim Jerkku at KL Industri.
