The manufacturing industry is undergoing major changes. Global giants like Tesla are revolutionizing their segments with gigacasting, producing entire chassis in one piece, while companies like Northvolt are reshaping the market by delivering batteries with a closed-loop value chain, including recycling.
These examples highlight the ongoing digital transformation and industrial transition. Industry 4.0 – the fourth industrial revolution – is here, and KL Industri is keeping pace. Through innovation and entrepreneurship, the company is evolving its value chain and setting clear goals to reach new levels.
With a strong focus on digitalization, KL Industri is exploring new design software, data-driven product management, and modern customer platforms. As part of this journey, the order and development department is expanding and modernizing for the future.
Digitalization and efficiency
In a bright and dynamic workspace, KL Industri is preparing for the next step in its development. Leading the effort is Epaminondas Sotiriadis, head of development and order construction, with a background as a civil engineer in electrical design.
Epaminondas is driving efforts to align design and production for greater efficiency. With the team growing from four to eleven members, the order and development department is focusing on streamlining communication, both internally and with customers.
From vision to action
With an upgraded and user-friendly business system, the team is enhancing product documentation management. The order construction team refines existing designs, tailors them to customer needs, and optimizes the article database for product variations.
Effective communication is critical in today’s information-driven environment. To prevent unnecessary meetings from cluttering the workday, KL Industri is refining its internal communication strategy – focusing only on valuable and action-driven information.
“We are working on digitalization in two key areas: production and customer experience. Within production, we are implementing standardized processes to lay the foundation for our manufacturing standards,” says Epaminondas Sotiriadis.
This is a crucial step toward Industry 4.0, where demands on both components and final products are increasing.
“We are committed to delivering quality products with minimal production variation. For our customers, we are developing a self-service database, where they can access relevant instructions and guides tailored to their specific needs. By utilizing metadata, we create detailed product articles that provide solutions for site-specific challenges.”

“We are growing in a new direction – toward a more digital and efficient industry.”
The reintegration of order construction and development is a unique move for KL Industri. This change has led to shorter lead times and a sharper focus on customer needs.
“It also reduces inefficient, repetitive work. Our engineers can trust that the database contains only high-quality components. By modularizing our product database, including symbol designations and key data, we are creating a well-structured product registry. This is yet another step toward Industry 4.0 and IoT (Internet of Things). Our goal is to ensure that a customer’s project exists virtually in our system – as a digital twin – before we physically deliver the product.”
KL Industri is experiencing what could be described as growing pains – transforming from a small company into an industry leader that competes with major international players.
“Together, we are on a journey to evolve into a company that continuously integrates new technology and knowledge to meet market demands,” says Epaminondas Sotiriadis.
With a commitment to both people and technology, KL Industri continues to strengthen its position as the leading provider of network stations in the Nordics.
